2023.06.06 14:49 ReaJoy How do I resume the weight loss?

20f 5’3 SW 177.6 CW 156 GW ? I lost 20lbs from the end of March to the beginning of May via calorie deficit + light exercise, but I’ve been stuck in the 156 area for a month now. I readjusted my calories and everything, but I haven’t seen any progress. I could everything, I don’t sneak bites of anything, I don’t leave off sauces or anything like that. I have no idea what it could be. Any advice would be much appreciated.

2023.06.06 14:49 roundwhiff Synching your fasting and eating windows with natural circadian rhythms.

Hello! New to the IF thing, and I'm really interested in giving this lifestyle a go because, well, we could all stand to be a bit healthier, especially with a ""DYI"" approach, as long as it's safe.

So, I'm still getting a grasp on all the jargon and science-y stuff, but something that really caught my eye was this concept of 'circadian rhythms'. To my understanding, it's like your body has an in-built clock (nature's pretty cool, huh?). This got me thinking - what if we align our eating and fasting windows with these rhythms? Found this article explaining when to eat for the best health benefits, and I'll share the best titbits on this.

For starters, I've always thought of metabolism as our body's fuel-burning system. Apparently, if we sync our eating times with our body's natural rhythm, it could lead to this thing called 'metabolic flexibility.' From what I gathered, it's like our bodies can easily switch between burning carbs and fats, kind of like being bilingual, but for your metabolism!

Secondly, the timing of our meals around workouts could make a difference (if we actually get into working out, of course). It's like going on a road trip - you gotta fuel up beforehand, and afterward, you might need a little maintenance. Aligning these meals with your fasting window sounds a little tricky, so I'd like more suggestions on how to do that from a scientific/medical point of view (hope it's ok to ask this here).

Also, apparently, when you eat could affect your sleep. Like, if you're snacking away while watching late-night shows, it might disrupt your body's rhythm and sleep quality, which explains a lot about my life up until now. I'm trying to cut back on late-night munchies, as my job often means staying up late or at least replacing this food with dried fruit or just water.

So that's where my head's at. Has anyone else tried syncing their fasting and eating windows with their circadian rhythm? How'd it work out? I'd love to hear about your experiences and any advice you've got.

2023.06.06 14:49 Zaries3 Outfits for Dinner with Strahd

Outfits for Dinner with Strahd
I've been running CoS for about a year now for my group (using the wonderful additions by u/DragnaCarta) and they've just decided to have dinner with Strahd. So, one of them decided to draw the party + Ireena in the "provided" (self-picked) outfits!
Left to right is:Adel: Aasimar Phantom Rogue - they're thinking about... stuff. Ezra: Reborn Soulknife Rogue - his shadow was taken when he first died. Klareena: Hexblood Swarmkeeper Ranger - she's not really sure what a dress is, but wishes it would stop always being where her feet are going. Jade: Tiefling Light Cleric - they aren't too sure about this whole "dinner" idea (and their shadow would like to leave also). Ireena: buffed to be a Warrior Sidekick - she's been talking about taking her fate into her own hands and not running, but is a bit nervous to see what that actually means in person
Anyway, hope you have a lovely day, and don't forget to invite the handsome stranger at night - he just wants to grab a bite to eat!

2023.06.06 14:48 KhajiitKennedy 2 years on T, my fat distribution is making me look more feminine.

2 years on T, my fat distribution is making me look more feminine.
After one year on t I am okay with the changes to my face, voice and "bottom". They're not happening as fast as I would like but I know this kind of stuff takes time.
But my fat distribution has all gone to my stomach, thighs, hips and ass. It's giving me a very weird triangular feminine shape. The past year I've gained about 60lb. Nothing really changed in the past 3 years except for testosterone. My energy levels and activity levels are largely the same. Within the last year I have changed my eating habits. I've been eating less fast food and carbs/chips as well as completely cutting out fizzy drinks and candy. I've started eating more home cooked meals (a lot of stuff you would find in those hellofresh boxes or similar) as well as fruits and veggies. My portion sizes have also decreased especially since cutting out fizzy drinks.
Photo one was last year, I was wearing a loose fitting binder that still binded. Photo two was about a week ago, I was wearing a loose-fitting binder that did not actually bind anything. After making all these sacrifices with my diet and going nowhere is my only option really the gym? I don't particularly want to but if it's the easiest option then I will get a membership. I also have the option of going to my free public swim a couple times a week but again with a dysphoria I'm not a very big fan of it but will if it's the easiest option
My mom suggests that I do bariatric surgery like she did because we do have chronic obesity in our family and she's had great success with it. But if someone scared of surgery I'd rather just get top surgery and be done with it.

2023.06.06 14:47 Significant_Buy_2301 Is Gregory dead by the time of RUIN? Theory discussion

I´m not a big fan of this theory, but I have seen multiple people proposing it and have to admit that it is likely.
Let´s review the facts.
- The DLC takes place after the true Afton Mimic ending, with the Pizzaplex collapsing in a fire as everything is destroyed, with the Vanny mask being located on the upper levels suggesting that Vanny survived as she doesn´t appear during the Mimic encounter (calling it a boss fight is kind of generous let´s be clear).
- Freddy clearly says that taking the elevator to the Pizza Place is a one-way trip. Despite this, we see Gregory and Freddy sitting on a hill, which doesn´t make sense, unless it´s symbolic.
You can make an argument that maybe they cleared their own path from the underground, but that would require equipment and time- something that they don´t have, as the pizzaplex is collapsing around them.
- By the time Cassie enters the Pizzaplex, the building is boarded up and seems to have been abandoned for quite some time. That begs the question of why didn´t Fazbear Entertainment come and deactivate all the robots, but remember, they did the same thing with the FNAF 1 location- left all the robots active for Afton to dismantle as well as left all the props there. It seems like it´s their tradition to just leave their locations rotting once an accident happens.
Yes there would be supplies for Gregory to survive on, but they would run out fairly quickly. Plus, why didn´t he just find a ladder or something to climb through the broken windows outside, just like we see Cassie doing at the start of the trailer? The entire thing is just fishy to me. Many people have pointed out that Gregory´s behaviour is also odd, but I actually thing he´s acting completely reasonably. He doesn´t have Freddy and is trapped without anything to fall back on. No, it´s rather his inaction that I find suspicious. So I think, it is possible that´s the Mimic impersonating Gregory.
...Or Gregory might be dead, but actually lingering on as a spirit begging Cassie to set him free. Wouldn´t that be a twist? If that turns out to be the case, I will simultaneously be interested and yet disappointed at the same time.
Look... can´t we get a canonical happy ending for once? Ever since FNAF 3, it´s been tragedy after tragedy.
FNAF 4: Bite of ´83.
FNAF 5: Worn as a skinsuit.
FNAF 6: Burn, but the horrors of Freddy´s live on.
FNAF HW: Get used as a vessel for a replica AI
FNAF: SB: Mimic´s reign of terror continues, despite Gregory burning him, Gregory potentially perishes as well, if this theory is correct.
Just please, I want a happy ending for RUIN.

Anyway what do you think of my interpretation of this theory? Feel free to give me your thoughts.

2023.06.06 14:45 Lunasole_ Sigh. I made a promise to God and I believe he’s starting to hold up his end of the bargain.

Long story short: think I made a deal to God that if I sin he can kill my nephew and that I would become diabetic (I was asking for him to heal me so I wasn’t diabetic already, as I was prediabetic and didn’t make any changes for several months)
I got blood work done during that time and my levels were lower and not higher. This seems pretty much like God accepted the deal. But there are some people who can be pre diabetic and eat terribly and manage to still maintain low numbers. And my doctor told me there isn’t a significant drop from my original A1C of 6.0 and 5.7 so he said it’s still quite reasonable that my numbers were lowered. I did cut back on sugar and stopped eating so much, and I was walking a bit more.
But anyway, but now, I think that I’m moving towards becoming full on diabetic. I am keto ( low carb, and no sugar) but my numbers seem to be creeping up. It feels like God is holding me to his end of the deal now. At this point I don’t care if I become diabetic but I care if my nephew dies. Welp.
Thoughts or advice on how I should handle this?
And background on the promise: I thought God approached me with this deal so I agreed to it/ went along with it. I was often saying “ Okay if I sin he will kill my nephew so I can’t sin. I can never sin again.” That was my thought process. There is a chance I did say “ okay if I sin kill my nephew” but I don’t even remember. I just say so many things in the moment that it’s possible that I did :/

2023.06.06 14:45 BurntPancakeII_ Why did I try to be like asmon

I saw the video where asmon went a full month and a half without showering. My showerhead broke and I gave myself an excuse to try it before I start my job as a barista at starbucks. I am almost 2 weeks in and it isn’t that bad, he was right somewhat. The worst thing for me being my dick and balls smell and they feel really dusty and dirty. I honestly feel a little gross, I can’t wait to scrub every inch of my body when fix my shower.

2023.06.06 14:43 kickassadyM 22F [Chat] Hi! Hey! Yo! What’s up!? Who’s going to be the first to read the post in full?

Good morning. Hi. I was born in the year 2000. Wish I was an early-mid 90s baby. I heard growing up during that time was great! I guess I’m in the Gen Z group and everyone hates that group / culture lmao. I think I’m pretty cool though.
Is 22 still young? Apparently this is the age where I’m done growing. In terms of height and everything else lol. If that’s the case, I’m kinda small haha, I think, flat-ish? Kind of an issue that I’ve been having with being flat. 105lbs also. I’ve actually started working since I was 9 years old though, not even kidding. Never went to college, stopped at high school.
I like going on hikes and going into random lakes and sometimes isolated beaches. I like climbing things and stretching lol. I’d like to think I’m pretty flexible. Hopefully I stay that way as a I get older. Favorite thing to eat are eggplants and corn. Put corn, potato, egg plants, cucumbers, shrimp, and muscle in a seafood broil bag and that’s my favorite.
I’m trying to establish a decent conversation on here so if anyone would want to help me out on that, respond in my dm to everything that I just shared. Don’t leave anything out!

2023.06.06 14:43 StampJar 14 MO vomits during breakfast about 3 times/week.

Our routine is we wake up around 6am and make breakfast (about 2-3 oz milk in sippy cup, sometimes eggs, berries, toast, acocado, oatmeal, yogurt) What happens is he will drink the milk and start eating. As he is eating, he will start coughing on something and eventually make himself gag to the point of vomiting all of his milk and food (it’s a lot).
We mentioned it to our pediatrician and she said he just has a strong gag reflex. I will say that she does seem to be teething and there seems to be a lot of drainage his in vomit as well (and her throat seems congested in the AM too). But no symptoms that would indicate otherwise.
He does seem fine after (and before) vomiting and asks for for food immediately after. We are just concerned for any health concerns and daycare sends him home every time he vomits and we have to take off work.
Is this normal? Has anyone else had to deal with this? Any tips? Thank you for anything.

2023.06.06 14:42 National-Piglet-3843 New hazelnut allergy?

We’ve been on a wild ride with my 18 month old and food allergies. He’s diagnosed with egg, cashew, sesame and pistachio allergies. Egg we found out at home and confirmed with a skin prick test at the hospital. For cashew and sesame we did food challenges in hospital following a positive skin prick test and we were told to avoid pistachio too as it’s so close to cashew in structure, and he was positive on the SPT too. We’ve successfully introduced peanut, walnut, almond.
He did however pass the hazelnut food challenge and we’ve successfully given him hazelnut for the last 5 months. That is until this week. He hadn’t had hazelnut for 2-3 weeks as we were waiting for a new jar to arrive and we were focusing on introducing new allergens to his diet. We also (stupidly I now feel) always treat a new jar of nut butter as a whole new allergen, so wait for a day he’s not at nursery or having new allergens. Anyway, this meant he didn’t have hazelnut for 2-3 weeks.
He had a good 1 1/2 teaspoons in his porridge and we noticed after he was done he had hives and bumps on his neck, upper chest and a few on his face. He was completely unphased with it and showed no signs of distress or itching etc. it started to go down on its own without antihistamine, and once he took them it was gone pretty quickly. His allergic reactions have all been hives on the face and neck.
Could he develop a new allergy in this time frame? Or is it more likely the jar is contaminated with other allergens? Does this mean we should stop offering hazelnut?
The whole thing has shaken my to my core and I’m berating myself for not giving him any hazelnut for a few weeks, and I’m worried it’s all mine and my husband’s fault. I’m also worried about other allergens suddenly causing him an allergic reaction so nothing feels ‘safe’ anymore.
I’m trying really, really hard to plough on with having a child with multiple food allergies and have started to research how we can all eat out as a family, and how he can still enjoy food in life etc, but it feels so hard. I guess I feel a bit discombobulated that a safe food is now unsafe.

2023.06.06 14:40 MarieRahde *TW loss*

Hubby & I finally got out BFP early December 2022. After 1.5 years TTC, 1 lap, 2 egg collections, 4 transfers. Our lucky fourth transfer was our little miracle. We lost her in March, I was 19 weeks. Incompetent cervix. And she was just too early :( My heart is completely broken. I need to bring her sibling home and I won’t stop until I do. Since having a whiff of this joy, I am more determined than ever. We’ve had our first FET since, 5 days ago and I’m positive it didn’t work. We have one more embryo left from our little girls batch. I want the next FET to work so badly. If not, it’s back to egg collection the month she was due :( Not really sure what the point of this post is, just needed to get it all off my chest..see if there’s anyone in a similar position..

2023.06.06 14:39 EdogawaConan2 Pain at the sides/gums/while biting of a root-canal'd teeth (months ago) and

Hello, I have a question.

So in around Feb/March-ish, I actually had a big tootache (tooth 36), which required me to go under root canal treatment. I had a huge sensivity to hot/cold, very (VERY) painful. Thankfully this got fixed with the root canal, I still have some pains from time to time but they're pretty rare and quickly fade out (no sensitivity to cold/hot). However, I went to the dentist last thursday, she did a checkup, I had bitewing xrays for all 4 sides of my cavity. Apparently, everything's fine except maybe my root canal filling had a slight issue (I forgot what) but the dentist told me it wasn't worrying right now. I also had a decay which apparently gets closer to the other side of the teeth (46), but I'll have to ask an appointment and come back in a few weeks to try cleaning it first and see how it goes.
I have to indicate that I brush my teeth between 1 to 3 times a day (depending on the day)
It's been fine since that thursday, however, since yesterday I've noticed that on the gums of my tooth 36, it's been pretty painful when I touch the gum around there, pressing on the teeth does hurt but I feel like the pain comes from the gum part. I don't think it's the tooth itself since it's been root-canal'd. I kinda feel like it when biting too, I couldn't eat easily this morning because of the pain, it's not unbearable but it kinda stays and is not comfortable. It was worse today than yesterday too. My gums aren't bleeding so I'm not sure if it's a gingivitis and I don't see any inflammation so far at the side of my teeth, I'm actually scared about it being an abcess or parodontis considering that I'm far from where my dentist is for a few weeks :/ and I'm not sure but I kinda FEEL (really not sure about this) that my teeth is SLIGHTLY higher than usual (but don't take this for a proof of abcess, I'm not really sure if it really is higher or just placebo)
What if this could just be irritation from the thing you bite for bitewing xrays? I'm not sure but if I remember correctly this one slid off a little when I had to bite, maybe it still irritated the gum..?

Any idea? Thanks!

2023.06.06 14:39 Sierrific Need opinion on a villain

Hello, all. Except Al'dur, Baldaric, Elijah and Sariel.
I'm creating a villain for a homebrew-ish city set in the Forgotten Realms. They're level 4, but I don't want to make this villain an immediate threat. A necessary evil at first, let things simmer.
The idea is to use the Shadow Broker from the Mass Effect series as a base (which in a sense is a lot like Xanathar, but I want to focus on the "dealer of intel" side of it). And the Geth also from the same series. Yeah I'm a ME fan, whatever.
Keywords: shadow broker, geth, gorilla grodd
Without further ado..
Mindswarm
The Mindswarm is an abhorrent and chilling creature comprised of hundreds of thousands of Cranium Rats, united in a sinister horde. This aberrant entity manifests as a pulsating mass of rats, each the size of a hand, moving in perfect synchrony with a dark purpose.
The Cranium Rat horde divides into smaller, highly intelligent groups that are sent as spies and infiltrators. Each individual rat serves as a tiny, disposable spy, capable of telepathic communication with the other members of the swarm. Their collective intelligence is unnerving, enabling them to plan complex strategies and act with flawless coordination.
This monster is an unrelenting threat, reproducing rapidly to maintain an infinite horde and growing stronger with each new member. The greater the number of rats, the more powerful and intelligent the swarm becomes.
Commanding this horde is the feared Mind Flayer known as Cephalorr. This abominable psychic being uses the Cranium Rats as its puppets, controlling and directing the horde to achieve its dark objectives. Cephalorr is capable of further amplifying the psychic powers of the rats, increasing their lethality and manipulation.
As combat unfolds, the Mindswarm reveals its alternate forms. With 75% of its remaining life, it assumes a weaker yet still dangerous form, adapting its abilities to the situation. When reaching 50% of its maximum hit points, the swarm loses the ability to unleash its powerful Mind Blast attack but continues to pose a threat with its biting assaults and mental control over enchanted creatures.
Facing the Mindswarm is a struggle against an unyielding and unfathomable force, a battle against the collective mind of thousands of intelligent and malevolent beings. The adventurers' only hope lies in unraveling the secrets of this abominable swarm and finding a way to disrupt its cohesion to defeat the Mind Flayer that commands it.

Figured since Cranium Rats get smarter the more rats are together, why stop at a single swarm? What happens when multiple swarms combine?
What do you all think? I kinda wanna give it Mind Blast so it can create more cranium rats by itself without relying on a mind flayer.

2023.06.06 14:39 Hodorcamp Milkweed

Does anyone around IC have any milkweed (not chemically treated) that they wouldn't mind sharing? Most of mine got chomped by an animal early on in the season, and I'm starting to find monarch eggs. Since my patch isn't going to be big enough to sustain the caterpillars when they hatch, I'll need some to supplement for a bit in a butterfly cage. Ideally this would be swamp/common milkweed that branches out rather than one tall stalk, so I can clip a few branches and keep them in water.

2023.06.06 14:38 Mthrowaway785 How do I stop biting my nails? I’ve been a nail biter all my life but it’s been getting worse. My nails look gross.

Im a 21yo male and I’ve been biting my nails all my life, unhealthily so. My nails look terrible.
I tried this stuff this nail hardener stuff that tasted horrible and it barely worked, I ended up picking at my nails anyway, and now I’ve just been trying out of sheer willpower but I always end up breaking. I forget to be on guard and muscle memory kicks in and a few minutes later I’ll realize I’ve been biting my nails and broke my streak.
I’m a fairly attractive guy but it’s a big insecurity of mines and I know people assume I’m weird because my nails are freakishly bitten down. It makes me feel embarrassed that my nails are so disgusting. It’s just a habit I’ve never broken and it’s gotten so much worse these past few years as I’ve gone through so much. It’s hard to admit but it’s genuinely why I go out less and why my social life/skills are deteriorating.
I’ve resorted to wearing black wool gloves often to get around this, but people still often ask my I’m always wearing gloves, especially when not fit for the weather. Without gloves, I’m nervous to even shake someone’s hand. I always try to hide my hands because I’m hyper aware and inevitably I’ll see the person I’m talking to begin eyeing my hands, then doing mental gymnastics wondering wtf is up with my ugly nails. How do I stop?! How do I make my nails grow fast? How can I fix them NOW! Please!

2023.06.06 14:34 DrobeOfWar It used to be hard to get fat

Before the days of cheap mass-produced calories, imagine how much harder it would've been to get fat? Back in the subsistence-farming periods I guess. It might even have been more work to get fat in those circumstances than to be fit and toned today.
Think about how rare really fat folks used to be. They had them in freak shows, for pete's sake.
I guess it was a lot easier in some cultures/locations, tropical ones like Samoa. Just reel in some fishing nets and scoop up some fruit.
It's still something of a status symbol to be fat in some countries. I didn't think hard about why till now. If you were Big, and virtually everyone was working for every bite of food, you were either rich enough to just buy all your meals or important enough to be given it instead.

2023.06.06 14:31 FromAcrosstheStars 54F fainting, heart palpitations, slurred speech and general weakness?

Hi all, I am posting this for my mum who doesn’t have a Reddit account. It’s a repost since nobody replied last time and I’m really worried about her. She’s been dealing with these symptoms since April of 2021 and she has no idea what could be causing it. She’s had several tests but lives in the USA and can’t afford continuing to go to doctors just guessing. If anyone could narrow it down for her I’d greatly appreciate it!
I’m going to copy and paste what she wrote.
“I have been diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, Osteoporosis, Menopausal hormonal imbalance, Hiatal hernia, Gastritis, and Food sensitivity (gluten, egg, soy, corn). I am taking calcium supplements for osteoporosis and taking hormone replacement therapy for hormonal imbalance. I also take multivitamins as well as turmeric supplement and Cod liver oil.
My major symptoms are extreme fatigue, dizziness, brain fog, difficulty concentraing and talking, blurry vision, swollen eyelids, shortness of breath, coughing, heart palpitations, muscle weakness.
These symptoms all occur together at the same time, multiple times a day on and off. These symptoms are triggered by eating, walking, any physical activity or position change, and also when in hot and humid weather.
These symptops started after the second dose of Pfizer which I received in April 2021. On the day after receiving it, my lymph nodes got swollen big at the base of my neck on the same side where I got the shot. Since then these symptoms are persistent and it is an ongoing issue which is interfering with my daily life, with my work (I had to quit my job), with driving, basic household chores, walking, climbing stairs, or any other physical activity.
I have visited a neurologist, rheumatologist, hematologist, gynecologist, cardiologist, ENT doctor, gastroenterologist, and have been tested for a multitude of diseases at these doctors but all the test results are coming back normal.”
I want to clarify that neither of us are anti va** but she felt it was relevant information to include since that’s when the symptoms started. Thanks in advance for the help!

2023.06.06 14:30 The-Jesus_Christ Work Trip with Diabetes Type 2 - Suggestions for meals?

Hey guys,
I have an overseas work trip to Christchurch that is 11 days long. Frustratingly I have Diabetes Type 2 so I usually buy calorie controlled meals where I can count my carbs and sugars, and for most of my travels, I'm usually booked into places with a microwave. Because I'm travelling during school holidays and options are limited, I am booked in a hotel that don't have one and won't put a microwave in.
My workplace there does have a kitchen so I can have such meals during lunch but is there any healthy meals I can get in the evenings? Do convenience stores sell meals and have microwaves? I always bring an insulated bag with me so can heat them up there and take it back to my hotel if such things exist there.
Any suggestions or advice would be greatful. I am kinda stressing out about the whole situation. Thanks!
