2023.06.06 14:15 I_say_hello1 My comments on every episode of Survivor: One World

I recently completed Survivor: One World and made notes simultaneously as I watched what I was thinking when the episodes went on. Keep in mind, these are my opinions; and everyone has a different viewpoint! Hope you find these intriguing. Let me know what you think of it!
Episode 1: I like the concept of dividing them into men and women; an interesting idea. Not so sure about them living together, but it's fine ig. I thought that Matt was arrogant off the bat. The chicken scene was enjoyable to watch. Sabrina shouldn't have given the idol to Colton as he was friendly with all the other girls too, she could have given it someone who could have been more loyal to her. I do think that the women tribe might be decimated quickly in challenges, so it remains to see how the makers balance it out for them. Not sure why Alicia was so riled about about a beneficial trade but Christina being friendly with the guys shouldn't warrant such a huge reaction imo.
Episode 2: The rewards challenge is interesting; that is something I miss in new survivor is reward challenges. I think Sabrina is regretting her decision about giving the idol to colton since he's being so annoying. I don't understand why colton revealed the idol with a tribal council not close by running the risk of the new getting out. It's interesting how open the tribal councils are with nina vs kat being openly discussed which would be very rare in the new era. But it does make tribal much more interesting. In the new era, I just skip over tribal discussion because it's the same repetitive cryptic stuff being talked about.
Episode 3: Finally the girls win a challenge, I am happy it is not a whitewash for the boys. Alicia does think they are above the boys and need to be given special treatment which might hurt her at the merge. The comeback win was amazing in the immunity challenge; a bit unfair since they saw the boys starting pieces but since it was allowed, that's that ig.
Episode 4: I liked the reward challenge of connect 5 by throwing coconut. The immunity challenge was also good but the copying completed puzzles just feels unfair, I think they allow it for come from behinds possible. I agree with kats statement that the manano tribe(boys) have lost their marbles when they started talking about giving up immunity. What was shocking that they actually went to tribal!!!! I don't understand how all 8 people agreed to this, least of all bill and leif with they or thier shield being voted off. Crazier was the tribal with the colton basically saying he doesn't like bill because he's poor (maybe cause he's black too). Going from the new era seasons to the earlier ones, there is definitely less thinking about voting strategy in the earlier seasons. This was one entertaining episode though!
Episode 5: The tribe switch happened - I was a bit underwhelmed because I would have liked to see Men vs Woman go uptil the merge. I also would have liked them to continue on the same one world beach location. Colton is kind of entertaining - 'its really hard being the leader of a bunch of idiots'. It's interesting to know that Jeff didn't know of Tarzan's name-forgetting disease considering the lengthy interviewing process they go through. I think its the first time I hear Jeff talk about a voteout after the voteout, basically saying it was a dumb move to vote out their strongest player so early.
Episode 6: Again suprised to see such open hostility and targetting of Christina. Jeff was definitely more sassy in the earlier seasons - 'Getting up here in itself is a adventure for Tarzan' - lol. 'My nephew could throw further than that' lmao. Colton getting out due to medical was disappointing, I wanted his dramatic exit through a voteout, whenever it happened. Leif seems to be really indecisive and a people pleaser. The merge happens due to Colton's exit.
Episode 7: A bit surprised to see Jonas voted off.
Episode 8: In the reward challenge I was thinking about the purpose of the slide for the challenge, it doesn't add much to the challenge according to me.The plot to pit Troyzan againt mike was smart. I liked the puzzle challenge with 60 pieces in the immunity challenge with the comeback from Jay. The votes didn't make sense to me. Christina and Alicia voted for Tarzan? Weren't all the girls supposed to vote for mike? And leif voted for Mike? That doesn't make sense for his game.
Episode 9: I am surprised the alliance formed while walking to camp at day 1 still is there till now. The temptation of food in the immunity challenges is interesting, I think it has not been done much in the new era? Jay telling Kim about Troy's idol was stupid. I know we as a audience has a bird's eye view of the reality which the contestants don't but even from his point of view; if they were voting Troyzan off without telling him and keeping him out, let them suffer and Kim be voted out. He should have asked the final vote- if it was not Alicia and it was troy, then he should have said that there is a possibility of him having an idol and let's vote alicia. The women seem to be in control after the voteout of Jay and Troy playing his idol. I didn't understand why Tarzan voted for Jay.
Episode 10: The auction was fun! The Troyzan immunity was amazing drama honestly. Good TV! The voting off Kim strategy makes sense for everyone on the puts except maybe a bit dicey for alicia, however I don't think they the players are smart/strategic enough to understand that. At voting, Christina and Tarzan's vote for leif and tarzan respectively make no sense for their gameplay. It seems like the women's alliance seems to be going till the end.
Episode 11: Funny that At the start Tarzan says that I look around and there are only 2 boys and it's a hopeless situation - but you yourself voted for Leif yesterday! Kim wins immunity. Christina says she's okay that her name is written down when which I find to be weird. The girls finally get Troy out.
Episode 12: Its the loved one's episode and I thought it was kind of unfair that the loved ones compete with them, cause obviously Christina's dad will be less able to compete than Kim's sister. Tarzan and christina really don't know how to play the game; Sabrina and Chelsea offered to vote Kat, and tarzan was like it will not be the smart choice and all; like you need to jump on such opportunities! But finally it played out and all voted for kat.
Episode 13: 7 episodes ago, Christina was the cockroach to be thrown out, and now everyone wants to take her to the final three because she's a goat. I have no idea who Kim is actually in a alliance with.Maybe that's her stratergy or she's keeping her options open. The immunity challenge where they had to attach fish hooks was not a puzzle at all. It was a bit a of let down challenge. Thetop five is all women, well done!
Episode 14 The Finale: Kim is playing a really good game where no one wants to target her. She hasn't even considered using her idol till now is a testament to her game. I feel she might go on to win. Kim goes to win the immunity. She is in the middle of the 2 groups of ALicia-Christina, Chelsea-Sabrina and is the decider. Kat is definitely bitter and now I think she might influence the jury and some votes might go to Chelsea/Sabrina. I liked the way they revisited the previous players and lit them up with a bonfire. Kim won the last challenge too! I don't get why Christina was not taken to the final 3, after bringing her all along to the final 4 as a goat. I guess the bonding between the three was really great that they wanted the three of them in the top.Was chelsea basically telling people to vote for Kim at Final tribal council?! Sabrina basically started with saying why she shouldn't be voted for?! Seems to be a easy FTC for Kim. The reasoning by Kim about not taking christina due to bitter jury votes going to her might actually be valid. And finally the winner is announced!!!
E15: In the reunion episode, Jeff basically rains down on colton to be the villain - are you ashamed etc. I think this just deters people from being villainous - which we see in the new era; there are no villains. Pleasantly surprised to see Mayim Bialik in the show!!

Final thoughts: The low amount of idols means gameplay was more open, this is much more different now in the new era where advantages and idols are galore, which made this an interesting watch for me. The absolute domination of Kim was also interesting to watch.

So I'm playing barb and really enjoying it so far - level 66. Story is good, world is good, side quests are great! I actually love the level scaling as it puts more time and thought into items not just power leveling and smashing through the game. I don't mind the gaps in mobs when roaming the world but maybe an increase in some dungeons would be nice, not by adding more small mobs but making larger mobs more spread out an area, so you pull them into each other. in the open world its fine as it makes me look at the world instead of the monsters.
Nightmare dungeons
Gets very boring after awhile but the challenge keeps you going back? Or is it just because its the only real option of its kind. Needs some work.
I think if you beat a tier of a dungeon you should be able to have that unlocked and the affixes available to choose from. Get a key of sorts. So the point of beating higher dungeon tiers remains the same (rewards etc) but you also have a dungeon you like with good affixes to "farm" - higher item drops, gold find etc that you can go back to. You will out scale it but its nice to farm if looking for items to increase your power. Maybe cap this at a certain tier, can cause problems at endgame leaderboards etc.
Maybe add a rouge like option? or game mode? You go down the dungeon and pick buffs and debuffs. Or add elemental type damage to certain skills etc as you progress and go deeper. Keeps changing every run and makes them feel unique.
Have a menu or list to see which nightmare tiers you have completed. good to see rewards I've missed you get when beating a new tier.
Helltides
Fun! great concept but not rewarding enough, these should have increasing drop chances and increasing difficulty. Eg. going for a specific ring - current cost is 75 as you farm and as you collect more shards you can invest the shards into the chest to change the tier. So 75 is tier 1 with "x" drop rate (sometimes you get garbage from the box)you can choose to increase the tier by "buying" and moving to tier 2 and so on. costs 85 shards now and increased drop chance and more items. Have limited time with the helltides so I think this will be more rewarding for the player and more focused on speed and the time of the event running out. Very much a risk reward here. Get to tier 4 and the time runs out as you just don't have enough shards and can't open the box. :(

More frequency of them - Very fun though
Towns
Great! - leave them alone (don't get why people are complaining about traveling between vendors etc)
Horse
Bit clunky - need to improve pathing (does feel good when you get it right though and are flying through the world)
Remove cooldown if you dismount on purpose.
Able to level up horse as you ride around to get another boost? Often you need just one more boost.
Reduce the speed at which the horse slows down after a boost ends, make it more gradual.
Skills
Happy but I think they should add a few more skills - not a new "branch" but maybe some longer improvements on each or a few more branches off each skill. More variety in choices and different gameplay options. Probably come with time.
Paragon Board
Can't quite put my finger on it but feels like its missing something. I like the concept. Maybe they need to add some unique runes or something that changes up a skill or something. Not just percentage gains and reductions but I'm not sure here tbh.
Items
Good, enjoying so far. Drop rate is very good! When you start to complete your build it feels very rewarding after grinding for hours but need to add more legendary's and tweak some that are terrible. I think the seasons will fix this though and as the game goes on.
Add a gem pocket! for the love of god. Increase the sale price of gems also?
Scale back the gold cost increase on rerolling enchants, should still increase but not so quickly. I think should also increase gold dropping in the world from mobs so you don't have to keep picking up everything to sell. Just tweak the world tiers percentage gain? Seen as you need to improve your gear consistently as the world scales you need to role better gear more often.
Barb class
Increase barb weapon mastery to 20 from 10 but scale back each level and buff 20 a bit more than 10. I finished them very quickly and they are very cool to see improve as you play. Not sure on other classes yet.
Chest or storage box
Search function
A tab you can create that's the layout of your equipment slots for your character - I can put in there for upgrades I'm wanting to do but don't have the right affix maybe - or need more of those shards to put sockets etc currently just make my own in the box. Quite useful.
Wardrobe/Transmog
Allow us to transmog uniques?
Add more colours to choose from?
allow us to change colours of weapons?
Tree of whispers
Good concept but should allow choice of all available gear boxes instead of three but make the legendary type box still random. Eg - there is a ring I'm hunting for, I can keep going for rings. Doing the challenges for the tree doesn't feel rewarding enough but if this was available i would be consistently running them if I need a certain type of gear.
PVP event thing - I haven't done it and probably won't so don't have an opinion on it, yet.
Gameplay
Option to adjust scaling of zoom on minimap. Just a bit too close sometimes. This might help with people complaining about no overlay. I don't care for the overlay - happy how it is - keeps me looking at the world and not a map.
Interactive map - allow us to select and search what we looking for.

Citizen Surprises With New, Smaller, 37mm Promaster Diver Collection
If I were a betting man, I would put the Citizen Promaster line at the very top of divers when it comes to popularity. It is not an expansive collection of watches like Seiko tends to do, and it is an absolute bargain if you are looking for a tough sports watch that will take a beating. However, the line of people who could never wear one is just as long, if not even longer, due to the size of the watch - 44mm is just a huge watch. Well, no longer. Citizen just announced a new Promaster Diver line in 37mm in three colors - black, blue and pink.
Despite shrinking down the watch below 37mm (and 11.6mm thick), the Citizen Promaster remains a capable diver with 200m water resistance. Actually, it retains most of the functionality and looks of the bigger watch. It still has the very recognizable hands, a 4:30 date window, dive time bezel and the legendary rubber strap. Inside the watch is the Eco-Drive E168 movement which is solar powered and gets you six months of power without the need for light exposure.
All three variations – black, blue, and pink (with a rose gold-toned steel case) – will set you back $375.
This watch comes at a perfect time where a lot of watchmakers are skewing smaller to keep up with changing tastes from consumers. To have such a popular watch in such an appealing package and at such a price, this will have to be a huge hit for Citizen.

Zodiac Unveils Two New Incredible Colors To the Super Sea Wolf Compression Diver
Most divers are a sea of blues and blacks, with the occasional silver and a splash of color. Zodiac has a different philosophy. They are on a mission to create the most colorful and out-there diver. And boy, are they good at it. Now they’re introducing two new core colorways into its Super Sea Wolf Compression collection - the Seafoam, obviously a seafoam green with black, white, and a touch of orange, and the Gulf, which takes on the classic light blue, orange, and silver colorway of the Gulf oil company which served as one of the most iconic racing car livery ever.
Both models feature the same 41mm × 13.4mm steel case with a water resistance rating of 200m, and both have the STP 1-11 movement inside. The Gulf model comes on a five-row stainless steel bracelet with a butterfly clasp and a spring-loaded extension while the Seafoam has a color matching tropic-style rubber strap with a pin buckle.
The Gulf has a light blue bezel with an orange minute track that frames a bright silver dial. If the photo’s of this watch look familiar, it’s because this is a callback to the vintage Zodiac Sea Wolf 1781W, one of the most desirable Zodiac models. While this watch is up from the original’s 35mm, it’s still a close-enough recreation that it makes for a good alternative.
The Seafoam also leans vintage, not so much into the Zodiac back catalogue, but rather into popular culture of the late 50’s and the guitars, fridges and cars that came in an almost identical color. The watch has a seafoam green dial, matching strap, a black bezel, and a pop of orange on the minute hand.
Both models are available for purchase now and the new ZO9304 “Gulf”on steel costs US$1,595, while the ZO9305 “Seafoam” on rubber will set you back US$1,295.

Zenith Blings Up The New Defy Skyline Skeleton With Just Enough Gold
The Zenith El Primero movements really are iconic and Zenith knows this. I guess that’s the reason why they are making some of the best skeleton watches today. Following the earlier Defy Skyline Skeleton model which featured symmetrical black and blue open dials with a four-pointed star formed by the cut-out and the Defy Skyline Boutique Edition with silvery-grey finishes, zenith is now releasing a new Defy Skyline Boutique Edition, this one with subtle touches of gold that make the watch even better.
Just like the previous models, this new skeletonized Defy comes in an angular-shaped 41 mm case with a 12-sided, faceted bezel inspired by the Defy models from past times and a screw-down crown. The colorway, as mentioned, is similar to the previous model with silver-grey finishes, but it also has a slightly darker chapter ring and applied gold-plated baton hour markers filled with Super-LumiNova, and matching hour and minute hands, only now there’s less dial and more movement.
Inside the watch, visible through the dial, is the El Primero 3620 SK, with the 3620 as a base, reworked, featuring the 1/10th of a second sub-dial at 6 o’clock, right on top of the watch’s 5Hz escapement, and it comes without the date indication. It has a stop-second feature for accurate time setting and a power reserve of 55 hours. The watch comes on either a steel bracelet or a rubber strap with a starry sky pattern.
The watch costs CHF 10,900, which, all things considering, looks like a very fair price.

Nomos Teams Up With Wempe For An Icy Blue Dialed Tangente For Hot Summer Days
There seem to be two trends this summer in watches. One is something that Zodiac is embracing fully - going all out on color; while the other is one specific color that we have now seen on several watches - ice blue, a color that seems to be the color of the summer. Nomos has teamed up with famous retailer Wempe to create a special edition Tangente Neomatik Update 41 for Wempe Signature Collection in this exact color.
It’s still a Tangente Neomatik. This means a 41mm stainless steel case that’s only 7.9mm thick with straight and angled lugs. The narrow bezel that holds the sapphire crystal serves as a visual trick to make the watch look much larger than it is. The main difference comes from the dial and it’s ice-blue dial, whose light tones are offset by blued hands and black indices and numerals. The darker blue colour is also found on the date complication, which shows each date through cutout sections in between the date digits on the outer rim of the dial.
The reason for the date being displayed in this unique fashion is the Calibre DUW 6101 inside the watch. To keep it as thin as possible and not have to stack the date disc on the movement, Nomos moved the date disc outside of the outer edge of the movement. The date can also be adjusted in both directions through the crown, while the movement itself stores 42 hours of power reserve. The watch comes on a very nice blue-black textile strap with a stainless steel pin buckle
This is a limited edition of 200 pieces, all of which are exclusively sold through Wempe’s showrooms for a price of EUR 3,400.

The New Credor Goldfeather Is An Uncommon, Pricey And Gorgeous Option For A Dress Watch That Will Be Hard To Get
From 1960 to 1969, Grand Seiko was Seiko’s top brand, both in quality and price. However, with the advent of quartz watches, Grand Seiko was dethroned as the most expensive watches. In 1974, Seiko separated their most high-end quartz watches into a line called Crêts d’Or, which literally means Golden Crests, but «Crêts» is a french word that applies more specifically to the summits of the Jura Mountains, a chain of mountains spreading between France and Switzerland, known to be the birthplace of watchmaking.
After alternating the name between Crêts d’Or and Credor a few times, Seiko finally settled on Credor (Credor and Crêts d’or have the exact same pronunciation in French) in 1978 but it still was just a separate line of watches within Seiko’s catalog and was branded with a simple SEIKO logo below the 12 o’clock position. In 1978, Credor became its own brand, with the dial that said Credor Seiko. Since then Grand Seiko and Credor have been the pinnacle of Seiko watchmaking.
It’s not often that you get to se a Credor watch, and they are even more rare outside of Japan. However, the folks over at Fratello have dug up a new, very interesting, release from Credor - the new Credor Goldfeather. The Gold Feather, as Seiko spelled it at launch, is a watch from 1960 which focused on absolute thinness. With the hand-wound caliber 60M it was just 2.95mm thick and was all the more impressive because it had a central seconds hand.
The reissue, named the Credor Goldfeather is thin, but not that thin. The 18k gold case measures 37.1mm wide and 7.7 thick. The watches are powered by the hand-winding 6890 caliber. The 6890 is just 1.98mm thick, and in this watch, the movement is attached directly to the case to keep the thickness to a minimum. However, the new Credor does not have a seconds hand.
The Credor Goldfeather will come in two variants. The first model, reference GBBY982, is in 18K yellow gold limited edition of just 30 pieces. The second model, reference GBBY980, is in 18K rose gold and will be a regular-production piece. The limited yellow gold model has a sunburst brushed dial with engraved hour indices, minute track, and Credor name. On the rose gold variant, Credor chose to use applied indices and a painted logo.
Reference GBBY982 will be released on July 8th in Japan as a pre-sale with availability in April 2024 at the Credor shop. Pricing is not for the faint of heart at approximately €22,700. For the reference GBBY980 pre-orders start on August 11th in Japan and also available in April 2024 in the Credor shop. Pricing is slightly less at roughly €22,000.

Watch Worthy - A look at an offbeat, less known watch you might actually like

The Stella Breslin revives the linen dial for the here and now
All of those features would be nothing if it didn’t have a good base, and the Stella Breslin’s linen dial is breathtaking. Linen dials are a little bit of a lost art in watchmaking, although there’s nothing in theory which makes them more difficult than any other highly textured pattern. The Classic Blue is richer than the Felix’s Dress Blue, and is paired with crisp white lume instead of the cream colour. There’s a Silver dial which almost looks made of polished meteorite, and would be best suited to more formal situations. The most fun option however is the Raspberry dial, hovering somewhere between a hot pink and a crimson red. It’s a truly great colour that you don’t see very often in other watches which boast pink or red dials, making it a unique display of personality.

So the body says it all. Obviously I need to play both and make my selection but I want to hear you opinions as well.
I have spoken with a friend of a friend who has both for sale. They are both lightly used and seem to be half off of market value.
I’ve watched all kinds of videos on the MD315 and it seem to be a great deal but I can’t find much on the KM675. Does anyone have any experience with either of these mandolins?
