This has only happened a few times but the most recent was pretty scary. I can’t remember most of the dream but all I know is I’ll realize I’m dreaming and things just feel soo real but I know it’s impossible for me to be in this situation.
So when I’m stuck the only thing that works (so far) is literally ( and this is going to sound crazy) but I have to flop down on to the floor really hard in my dream. I don’t have to even fall to the floor , I can lift my arms up and slam them to my side just enough to get my real body to jerk in real life.
So this last time I kept doing it and it wasn’t working. But no matter how scared I am I can’t wake up. I just kept flopping down until it worked. I wake up and I’m like “ woah that was pretty crazy” and then can easily go right back to sleep. It won’t happen for weeks but it happens enough to where I’m starting to keep track.
I don’t know. Maybe a deep sleep. The dreams aren’t anything like someone is trying to tell me something. The last one I got stuck in I was in an apartment with a famous rapper. Something happened and they had to lock me up but they put me in the shower which had bars on it. I jumped out and escaped to the living room and kept trying to convince the rapper not to snitch on me about something. He just said “ you better get back in there” .
So I realize I’m dreaming , I can consciously look at my hands, I can pick things up and analyze them. It feels so real but I know it’s not.
Anyone else go through this?

So Wednesday the 31st I began to feel a little discomfort in my front upper left thigh while at work. I work in a lumber yard so it's a physical job some days but nothing crazy. I do not recall any injuries however. It just slowly started out of nowhere. If I had to describe it, it feels like a dull aching pain. It does not hurt to touch. It doesn't look swollen or red at all. It feels a little tight to the touch compared to my right thigh but i cant really tell. And I'm able to walk and move on it just fine. Just hurts. Fast forward to the next day I went to my local urgent center where I told them my symptoms and they immediately sent me to a hospital to get an ultrasound to rule out a blood clot. I came back clear but when they did the ultrasound they mainly did my leg and calf. A little bit of my thigh but not near the pain. So I'm not sure if they did it correctly. They send me home and I go about my weekend. Yesterday on Monday I'm still having the pain so I return back to urgent care to get another opinion. Still the same symptoms however I notice that when I bend over to pick something up I get what's best described as a bad cramping pain. It feels like a baseball poking out of my leg. She says there's nothing else they can do and that I need to see my doctor and get blood work done as she believes I might have some muscle tension and that I have an Electrolyte imbalance or that I may be low in potassium or magnesium. She said I can return to work if I'm willing because she doesn't believe it's an actual injury. And that work shouldn't make it worse, I just need to take it easy. I've been taking potassium and Tylenol for the pain and it seems to help a little bit. I'm keeping it elevated as well but it's still there. Like I said nothing specific irritates ot other than bending over and sometimes if I stand up and keep my leg straight I get the same cramping feeling. My thigh doesn't have any spasms other than once on Saturday. It will hurt walking on it one minute and the next it's fine. It usually never hurts sitting down. If so it's very slight. And the same with laying down. I'm just extremely nervous and I've been told so many things. My biggest worry is that the hospital did not check the right area of my thigh when looking for the blood clot via ultrasound. Thank you and any opinions are greatly appreciated. I'm 23 M BTW.

So I live in a busier area of Brisbane. And since its been getting darker I’ve noticed a higher case of pedestrian on car accidents, way more than I saw in the middle of summer.
So I am usually a cautious walker but today I kinda snapped at someone at a road crossing. This cross is unmarked but clearly is for pedestrians and I reason I snapped is there has been an even larger uptick or drivers not paying attention to corners and I have seen people hurt.
Here’s the part I’m unsure of, I was clearly intent on crossing the road but let one car get through through and made eye contact, I then took two steps to cross fully before another car came fast around the corner trying to speed through I was luckily only one foot on the road, they wound down their window to say something but I responded first with “what the hell dude” of which they just speed off and screamed at me that I stepped in front of them. I got angry and screamed back that I was at the crossing first and flipped them off.
I’ve been told by various people that I’m was either right, or wrong. Here’s the thing usually pedestrians have right of way even at a corner, this is usually how I was taught and I’ve observed that the general flow of traffic, but since our population increase I’ve noticed that people have been screaming around corners more often without looking speeding up at pedestrian marked crossings even with people there beginning to cross. I mean 2-3 cars are speeding around and past me as I am fully on the road.
Am I really in the wrong for getting angry at people not stopping or slowing down at corners when someone clearly visible is there and obviously making a move onto the road.
As an added side note I know how long it takes a average car to pull up and start to turn these guys were going fast and not slowing at all even though I was moving and they were behind me when I was moving onto the road as I didn’t see their headlights until I was one foot on the road and had checked my peripheral right before getting on the road.

I told my family at a birthday party for my aunt how I wanted to go to the beach and stay for a few nights at an airbnb since I hadn’t been in a long time and my cousin offered to let me stay with him since his new house is oceanfront right by the beach and it would be free. I was staying in his guest room while laying in the bed reading a book and he came in at night while intoxicated, I could smell the alcohol on him. He didn’t use a condom and he has been open with his HIV status in my family. I told him that I was heading home in the morning because I wasn’t sure how he’d react if I left in the middle of the night. I didn’t get any sleep at all and went to the hospital in my city the next day. I haven’t felt this bad in years! At the hospital, I got an anonymous rape kit without reporting him yet(I am scared to report him and go through everything…He is a powerful lawyer in my state but I still wanted to get it just in case I ever go forward with it) and they told me that I could have flu-like symptoms while taking PEP. I am two days into the exam and still stuck outside the external network.
I have read all the posts here talking about the same issue and how easy it is to find the password. I have gone into Discord and noted all the hints given by TCM. Replayed all the course videos and wrote the transcript of the password methodology. Made scripts to generate passwords as per the methodology taught in the course, but all those efforts avails no results.
Reading Heath's comment on Discourd that "the password is top 10 and by not guessing you will be doing a disservice to external pentest", makes me feel really dumb.
I am not the one who usually gives up, I had completed THM Red team capstone before it went to business customers and I was confident that I can crack any AD. But I am speechless right now and getting a little frustrated tbh.
I know you guys are tired of the same thing being talked about here again and again, but the reality is I am up against a wall and see no light.

Is there any modern hands-on software/online program that teaches you financial analysis, investing etc. that teaches you to apply real financial concepts in a fun interactive way ?
The simplest example I can give is basically a "Duolingo for finance" or "SIMS for finance world" . Where you learn by playing a "game" instead of constantly reading theory. And it progresses from beginner to advance like a game.
Most applications I tried are children sims that are really basic or stock market sims that dives right in with no context or proper guide.
Any recommendations or roadmaps to make it more 'interactive' ?
Duolingo is a great example, I know people who hate studying but ended up pretty proficient in certain languages because they were engaged in the "language game" whereby they voluntarily read supplementary language resources to enhance their "game powers".

Good evening. As you may have guessed from the title, this thread will be based on the Duolingo Japanese course. I will try to make it as short as possible while also providing as much information as possible. This thread is mainly towards targeted to the people who have taken part in this course and have also spoken to / listened to actual native Japanese speakers.

So, first and foremost, it is important to understand that Duolingo is a free application. Even though it is monetized, in the end of the day, it is free, so it is expected for it to not be the most amazing, well-made course there is out there. That said, I wanted to ask for the quality of the course and how well it applies to real-life Japanese.

Duolingo follows (from what I believe) what we call "textbook learning." You will learn what is considered proper grammar and what would be a correct sentence in the specific context. I know this as I also took the Greek Duolingo course for fun (as I was born and raised in Greece), and I did notice that it does follow a textbook approach.
One issue with the textbook approach however, is that it sounds pretty unnatural. From my experience with the Greek course, although the answers were correct, I more often than not answered based on what Duolingo would deem correct rather than what I would actually answer. Still, the majority of the time, the answer that Duolingo expects would be something understandable, just a bit unnatural in common speech.

That said, I have come across a bunch of videos where Japanese people have taken Japanese courses (most of these videos are about a year old though, so I am not sure if they hold true to this day) on Duolingo, and have commented on the fact that a lot of the things said are pretty unnatural and stuff you'd probably never say. Although this isn't a big deal since you are just learning grammar, what is a big deal is pitch accents. I've seen people comment on how the pitch accent of certain words is wrong when the AI says it, and coming from a language that uses accents, I know just how important it is to learn the correct accent, as the wrong accent has a completely different meaning. One exception to this though were Duolingo stories, in which incorrect pitch accents were absent.

Now, since I do not know Japanese myself, I cannot compare the quality of Duolingo and other applications. I do not know what is wrong and what is right, so I just follow what the course says. That means that whatever accent I hear, that is the one that I'll follow and learn. If said accents are incorrect, it will in turn teach me bad practices that would end up having a negative effect on me when it comes to communication, and that is what worries me. Regardless, I am doing this course for fun, so although it won't be the end of the world, it would be a shame if I was learning the wrong things to begin with.

Reaching my final question, I wanted to ask you (and majorly the people who took this course and have talked with native Japanese people or native speakers who spent a good amount of time taking this course) what your opinion is on this course. Is it good that I use this course to learn Japanese or not? Would you recommend I use this course to an extend and move somewhere else, or do you discourage the use of this course altogether? I've seen a lot of criticism regarding Duolingo and learning Japanese from it, but a lot of this is over a year ago, and I do think that Duolingo has changed a bit since then. If someone could answer these questions, maybe tell me the pros and the cons of using Duolingo as a way to learn Japanese, and / or provide me with resources that you would think are helpful for learning Japanese alongside Duolingo (or without Duolingo altogether), that would be amazing. The major point of this post is to assess the quality of the course rather than discuss alternatives, but I'd love to hear other people's opinions and views. I have a secured loan with an outstanding balance of around £34k. It was over a 15 year term and I'm around 3 years in. I pay roughly £630 a month (it used to be around £500 but the interest rate increases have bumped it up).
I'm looking to settle my loan but I had a question about whether the figures I've been given are correct. No doubt they are, and I know that paying off loans early towards the start means that you're essentially just paying the interest, but the figures just seem really bizarre.
I had a settlement figure in December that was £34,745 - of that, there was an early repayment fee of £1,078.
I've just had another settlement figure and it's £34,309 - the early repayment figure is now £1,145.
In the last 6 months, I've made £3,725 in payments yet my settlement figure has only dropped by £436. Does that seem right? It probably is but just seems so harsh.
Also, is it normal for the settlement fee to change? It's probably based on the interest rate or something but thought I'd ask.

Hello there! As the title suggests I am having some problems with RealityCapture. Sometimes it works really well, but other times when I allign images or components it messes up.
So what I'm doing is making a map/model of the inside of a mine and the valley and hill exterior. I'm doing them separately, i jave done the exterior already. But had some issues as I used photos and footage from different visits in different seasons and lighting. But overall it lined up nicely.
Now, the inside of the mine. There are sections that line up well i have actually done about 1/2 of the main adit mine level, and i did the main chamber this adit comes to. And they've turned out good too. I'm trying to do the other half of the mine and sections join together twisted, upside down and all sorts of weird shit. I have used control points to try and steer it in the right direction, but its still doing it. I've had occasions where this has happened and there has been a control point or a few that have the point in the wrong place or its not in the image at all. So that is easy to fix. But this time the control points are correct and in places to allign images and merge the components correctly. I don't get how it is aligning so wrong 🤔
It also seems to hate images looking backwards, as in back down the tunnel, so they are currently disabled. Is there anway to use them? It just seems to get confused, as ofcourse looking backwards the control points are then on the other side and back to front.

I fit the criteria for bipolar 2, every single part. But I’ve been tracking my mood for months now. Even though March and April I had a low then a high, ) I was severely depressed then had something that fit the hypomanic criteria) but now it’s different, I look back at may and even now, and my mood fluctuates often, and that isn’t right with bipolar, it’s moreso up and down for a week at a time (minimum) right?
I might be mixed state now, that’s the thing I don’t know. I felt I was going hypomanic the other day, I woke up feeling motivated, I cut my hair way too short, dyed it, took a million photos of myself, I gave myself 4 tattoos impulsively, one of which being the word “whore” on my arm… I even decided I wanted to become a singer and start a career so bought an app for it, this lasted two days, until the third day where I had the same feeling, I also had low feelings. Where I realised maybe I wasn’t even hypomanic (my friend said I was) but I was just energetic, and now since that, I’ve been feeling happy and optimistic, but I’ve also been feeling really depressed, but they’re both there at the same time. But sometimes one is more than the other. Usually the happy. But then I’m thinking maybe this isn’t mixed state it’s just being a normal human being, so I’m not sure… I burst into tears 7 minutes ago, I started shaking even…I was considering self harm and now I’m normal again thinking of what tattoo to get next.
I burst into tears because my doctor said I’ll have to wait a month to hear back about a psychiatrist. My anti depressants aren’t working, I just want help. Because not knowing what is wrong with me and even what I’m feeling isn’t going well, I just feel like I’m faking everything.
If it was mixed state it would be balanced right? Cuz my mood tracker just keeps going up and down and it goes up and down often

Animal companion
Just a thought, but wouldn't it be cool if we had animal companions in Sky Cotl? Like Appa and Momo in ATLA, they could take over the function of giving tips or we could travel on them for short/mid distances..
Plus, they would make the experience for solo players much better I think and of course they would just look super duber cute, right?
What do you guys think of this concept? Would you like to have an animal companion/buddy?
